Review of Balea Charcoal Nose Strips

Balea Charcoal Nose Strips (6 strips)
Review of Balea Charcoal Nose Strips
Let's take a moment to appreciate my fluffy polka-dotted house coat shall we?
Who doesn't like these little guys? There is just something so satisfying seeing all that gunk that get's ripped out of the pores in your nose. I have been a loyal user of Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips for years, so when I saw these I knew I had to try them out. Also, if you hadn't noticed, the whole charcoal skincare trend has been pretty strong this past year.

So what are the claims?
  • Instantly cleans clogged pores
  • Removes blackheads and helps reduce the appearance of pores
"Each strip contains charcoal, which bonds instantly to dirt and oil unclogging the pores. After just one use you will feel and see a difference in the appearance of your skin. With continuous use of Balea Charcoal Nose Strips, the appearance of pores will be reduced, leaving your skin clear, smooth, feeling and looking great."

So basically it's suppose to make your nose all smooth and non-backheady.

A box of Review of Balea Charcoal Nose Strips come with 6 strips for $5.99

I'm going to tell you right away, that I don't have a huge issue with blackheads. Nor do I have very large pores. I know cry me a river right? I mostly use these guys just to get the kick of looking at all the gunk on the strip. Sue me.

You can see that I'm tearing up while trying to pull of the strip...it was a  practically glued to my nose

They work exactly the same as Biore's version. You  have to wet your nose, apply the strip, wait for 10-15 minutes or until it is completely dry and then carefully remove it.

All that worked just fine for me, with the only glaring difference being that it hurt more the Biore. I think it adhered to my skin more and created a tighter seal. It was painful to remove. It also left a small amount of product on the side of my nostril...charcoal maybe? It washed off fine.

Don't you lie, you know you like to look at the gunk too!

As for the actual result - Good. My nose felt and looked clean. It did a good job removing all the dirt from nose. The only thing that kind of bothered me was I had a hard time seeing the gunk on the strip after due to the colour of the strip being black. Not a big deal, but half the reason people use these strips is to get the cheap thrill of viewing all that gunk.

I totally have a zit on my nose...how rude

As for their claim about reducing the size of your pores? I don't think I'm the right test subject for this. Like I said before, I don't have large pores to begin with. so I really didn't notice a difference.

Have I grossed you out yet?

Would I repurchase? While it did do a great job cleaning out my pores, I really preferred a white versus black to view the gunky evidence. I think I'll stick with my Biore in the future. I grabbed mine at Shoppers Drug Mart for $5.99 which is less then the Biore version which comes in at $7.97.
